Freedom is Free
This article is one I have been sitting on for a while. I originally wrote it back in November 2022.
It's... provocative, to say the least, and I've been scared to post it.
But, I've committed myself to saying what I need to say. Plus, July 4th falling on my Thursday posting day is too good of a coincidence to pass up.
Freedom is free. Anyone who tells you otherwise either wants to place their boot on your neck, or has one on their own.
Freedom is an innate thing everyone is born with. Every child that comes out of their mother's womb is free.
Until they aren't.
Freedom is the default. But it is oh so quickly stripped away.
Shackles are clinched shut as soon as possible.
We are fed the lie that, "Freedom isn't free."
But that's all it is. A lie.
Freedom is free.
"But freedom must be defended!"
NO!
Freedom is free. Freedom is so free it can't be defended, because there is nothing to defend.
The moment you try to defend freedom, you have fallen for the lie and are no longer free.
Freedom is free.
Many, through violence or lies, will try to enslave you.
But freedom is free.
"But then what do I do to stop someone from stealing my freedom!?"
Give it to them.
Freedom is free.
Anyone trying to enslave you is a slave themselves.
Offer them your freedom, and you will see, that freedom is free.
And so, friends, we are not children of a slave, but of her who is free.
It is for freedom that Christ set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not again be held under the yoke of slavery.
